The Vicar General of Kampala Msgr. Gerald Kalumba has called for prayer for the world to get rid of COID-19 that has floored nations and economies.

The appeal comes as the death toll due to COVID-19 world over has supposed half a million and over 10 million infection. Uganda is still blessed with no death but with a rising number of infections standing at 859 cases, with 794 recoveries.

However the fears are that Ugandans have become complacent; ignoring the health emergency procedures; washing of hands, social distancing and wearing of masks, announced by government to control the spread of the Coronavirus.

Msgr. Kalumba has warned Ugandans against laxity saying God is the answer to all challenges including the affected as a result of COVID-19.

On the issue of the national elections Msgr. Kalumba advised that despite of the pandemic, let the process of voting for the new leaders in Uganda be transparent and void of any process that could disenfranchise voters.

The electoral commission on June 16th 2020 announced scientific campaigning to control the spread of COVID-19.
