Government and the people’s republic of China (the province of Hunan) have signed a memorandum of understanding to introduce modern and cheap bio gas project in Uganda.

The Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda told the press at the signing ceremony that bio gas will promote local business development especially in agricultural and cattle corridor areas where electricity is not yet connected.

Bio gas is produced from Cow dung, piggery droppings and from the green plant fossils. And Uganda is currently looking for Hunan industrial park to support the project.

Meanwhile, the governor of Hunan province H.E. XU Dazhe applauded Uganda for the cordial relationship even in the economic stand that puts china’s exports to Uganda at USD 1.3bn
