Still on International Women’s day celebrations, Uganda Cares have offered various services to the residents of Namuwongo- Makindye division who live in slum areas to enjoy this day.

Among the services offered include screening of various diseases such as Hepatitis B, HIV testing, cervical cancer screening, STI management.

According to Martha Mbabazi Otai, the Head of Prevention and Controller in Uganda Cares, they have also organized a dialogue to share issues affecting women and the general public.

Mbabazi adds that they have realized that life in such slum places is very challenging due to poor economic status and a lot of gender based violence occurring in families.
