The Uganda National Examinations Board-UNEB has registered a case of misconduct by two head teachers in Kasese district in the course of the second week of the ongoing UCE exams who had gone to pick exams from police station while drank.

According to the Manager Examinations from UNEB James Turyatemba on the updates about the UCE exams the head teachers whose names are withheld are currently detained at Kasese Police station for acting irresponsibly which posed a high risk to the security of examinations and will be possibly charged with neglect of duty.

 

Turyatemba reveals that further disciplinary and administrative actions against them will be taken by the ministry of education as prescribed in the teachers’ code of conduct.

 

Other challenges faced by UNEB during the course of the second week include S.4 student in Bukomero who defiled a young girl and is still detained at Bukemero Police Station, the death of two candidates from universal college Hoima who were knocked down by a speeding vehicle among others.

However this Friday November 1st 2019 will be the briefing for At least 1,137,315 candidates that were registered for 2019 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
