A fatal accident involving a convoy of the Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party presidential candidate Patrick Amuriat Oboi’s on Tuesday afternoon occurred in Nebbi left two people dead.

The nasty accident occurred at about 2:00pm when Amuriat’s truck carrying the FDC Presidential public address system crashed killing two and injuring 15 people as the team was heading to Parombo in Nebbi.

It is said the vehicle registration  number UBB 856W that was carrying the candidate’s Public Address system overturned several times leaving the two dead and 15 others injured at Ganda village, Panyimur town council in Pakwach district.

The District Police Commander for Packwa district Frank Muzoola attributed the accident to the truck driver’s failure to negotiate a sharp corner that has lately become a killer spot for travelers.

The deceased were later identified as Hellen Picho the FDC flag bearer for Nebbi Municipality Woman Councilor and the current councilor of the same area called Zulaika.

Both the deceased have been described as the greatest FDC Nebbi ground to ground mobilizers in the area.

The incident forced the Presidential candidate Patrick Amuriat to cancel his campaign rally at Panyimur Town council in Pakwach district to mourn the death of his supporters and also help those in hospitals but opened FDC party offices in Padyere County, Parombo town in Nebbi District.
