The traffic police have released the traffic guidelines ahead of the swearing in ceremony of President Yoweri Museveni as the newly elected President for the sixth term at the helm of Uganda.

 

Traffic flow will be disrupted along Entebbe Road and most routes in and around Kampala especially those connecting to Kololo Independence grounds where the swearing in ceremony is to take place this Wednesday May 12, 2021

 

Addressing a news conference at the Police headquarters in Naguru, Norman Musinga the Kampala Metropolitan traffic police commander revealed that all roads connecting to Kololo will only be open to invited guests with stickers who will be guided on their access to the venue

 

Musinga says even though Kampala Jinja Highway will have normal traffic flow, but some roads like John Babiha road, Acacia Avenue from City Oil Kamwokya,  Wampeewo Avenue will be cut off at strategic points and he appealed to the invited guests to follow the set traffic guidelines.

 

Musinga also noted that the residents of Kololo will be allowed to leave their homes but guided by the security, all heavy trucks and fuel trucks will not be allowed to access the Central business districts, and they will be as required by the security.

 

At the same briefing Col. Deo Akiki the Deputy UPDF spokesperson warned that all guests should adhere to the guidelines and security checks as they access Kololo.
