The Security Minister Gen. Elly Tumwine has stated that despite the apparent murders in the country, the situation is not as bad as it is elsewhere.

Gen. Tumwine while giving his ministerial account for the last two years of National Resistance Movement (NRM) in power at the media center says although they are operating under a stringent budget, they have managed to secure most parts of the country, movement and transaction of businesses is never hampered.

He added that under the 2018/19 budget they are planning to construct more barracks, improve on the welfare of the security personnel, and construct health and education centers among others to keep them motivated.

Tumwine rebuffed parliament through its gender committee for being inconsiderate over their decision to eject him from the Nommo Gallery a public facility which he claims to have reconstructed to suit the international standers since 1998 when everyone had abandoned it.

This came as government earmarked close to Shs44.6b in the next financial year 2018/19 to refurbish it but wanted it done after the occupant vacated and paid all rental arrears to government.
