Uganda National Teacher’s Union have challenged the ongoing process of reopening of schools for the finalists in higher institutions and candidates in primary and secondary schools while the number of Covid 19 cases is increasing.

The general secretary UNATU Filbert Baguma in a closed discussion with our reporter has noted that this is not the right time for reopening of schools without a guarantee for the safety of students and teachers.

He says public transport should be first slot to be opened and experts take a situation study before the schools open.

Baguma claims that some schools do not have access to clean water and capacity to buy daily soap for washing hands.

In his last national address about Covid 19, president Museveni promised that within two weeks if the government have managed to provide face masks, there will be reopening of schools and public transport, but what is worrying is the increasing number of cases
