The Chairman Uganda Episcopal Conference-UEC Rt. Rev. Bishop Dr. Joseph Antony Zziwa has tipped health workers to adopt a method of giving peace of mind and hope to patients for speedy healing.

This was during the 28th graduation ceremony for St Francis Nsambya Nursing Training School where the Bishop Chairman was presiding over the thanksgiving mass.

At least 757 nurses, midwives, Laboratory Assistants and Technicians have graduated and walked away with their professional academic certificates as the institute clocks 100 years of existence.

The Bishop of Kiyinda – Mityana encouraged the graduates to avoid absenteeism but ensure they become the healing light at their places of work regardless of the challenges they might face.

Dr Joyce Moriku Kaducu, the State Minister for Primary Education who has represented the Minister for Education and Sports, First Lady Janet Kataaha Museveni as the chief guest cautioned health workers to avoid conduction abortions which are against God’s creation.

Meanwhile, Sr. Stella Josephine Namatovu, the Institute’s Principal urged graduates to limit their attitudes towards the patients which she says discourage the sick people and delay healing.

The ceremony has been held virtually in the interest of observing the COVID-19 standard operating procedures.
