St. Agnes Kibuye Makindye located in Makindye Division Kampala has celebrated 17 years of existence with a reminder from the Bishop of Masaka Diocese Rt. Rev. John Baptist Kaggwa to all parishioners to be pure in life through holy sacraments.

Presiding at the celebrations Bishop Kaggwa said Christian life calls for love for one another and the church like st. Agnes who accepted death by martyrdom for God without accepting to be abused with sex.

He said like any other parishes, even St. Agnes started from scratch to now a great line commending the late Agnes Namutebi who donated land for the church , Priests like Fr. Arthur Muwonge, Fr. Remegious Ssemujju, and now Fr. Joseph Lugobe and for the achievements registered.

Bishop Kaggwa also noted with concern the government programs that compromise the norms and values of the society like the Sexuality Education Framework program that is to be taught in schools right from primary 3 that is going to expose and compel young ones to indulge in sex at an early stage.

He says any program brought to Ugandans must be evaluated to minimize harm.

The Parish Priest Fr. Lugobe who has been bedridden at Nsambya Hospital for close to two months appreciated the support extended to him assuring them that the campaign to buy land for the parish extension which has a balance of UGX 50 million to complete UGX 130 million must continue as planned.
