The Chairman Uganda Episcopal Conference Rt. Rev. Bishop Joseph Anthony Zziwa has underscored the beauty of taking the Uganda Martyrs’ trail and visiting our faith based sites because they renew and strength our faith.

While leading a delegation of SECAM Bishops around the martyrs sites Bishop Zziwa said the African Bishops have entered Christ over what the sow and the discussions over the way Uganda martyrs were tortured and killed because of faith which gives Christians especially Catholics and Anglicans a lesson never to play around with their faith.

The Bishops Visited the Munyonyo Martyrs Shrine, Namugongo both at the Catholic and Anglican Church Shrines for a spiritual exposure and appreciate what the martyrs underwent to defend their faith.

They also reached Bakateyamba home in Nalukolongo a home for the needy run by the Congregation of the Good Samaritan Sisters, started by the late Cardinal Emanuel Kiwanuka Nsubuga in memory of the first missionaries especially Fr. Laudel Mompel who used the same place as his church and rescue centre for those who had been rounded off destined for transportation for slavery during the 1850s by the Arabs.

The Bishops who are attending the SECAM 18TH Plenary Assembly and Golden Jubilee celebrations at the Common Wealth Resort Munyonyo have today started a closed session until Saturday when they are expected to come up with a communiqué called the Kampala Declaration about the theme; Family Church of God in Africa celebrate your Jubilee proclaim Jesus Christ your savior.

The grand celebrations are slated for this Sunday July 28, 2019 at the Uganda Martyrs Catholic Shrine Namugngo starting with Mass at 10am.
