The Chancellor Kampala University Prof. George Mondo Kagonyera has urged the government to invest more funds in research and technology if the country is to improve the quality of education and national development.

 

Prof. Kagonyera made this call during the 17th graduation ceremony held at the main campus in Ggaba Makindye division in Kampala noting that education can be a brand for any given country.

 

In his massage, the Chief Guest who is the Kyabazinga of Busoga William Wilberforce Gabula Nadyope IV has asked graduates to be loyal to parents and patriotic in their carrier.

 

The 17th graduation ceremony has seen a total of 2,673 graduates, 1,674 males representing 66% and 999 females which is 37.3% conferred with certificates, Diplomas, Bachelors and Masters degrees in various professional fields.

 

On Thursday April 29th 2021 the university is again expected to hold its 18th graduation ceremony, with a total of 2,850 candidates to be conferred with their academic papers, of these 1,810 are males and 1,040 are females, all conducted in a virtual way to control the spread of Covid-19 according to the Vice Chancellor Prof. Badru Kateregga.
