A Team of Security personnel in Masaka comprising of the Army and Police have visited the mother house of the Religious Congregation of the Daughters of Mary Bwanda in Villa Maria Parish to establish facts about the incident where a group of yet unidentified thugs attacked and robbed of them valuable items.

The security personnel comprised of the investigation officers from Kasijjagira Army Barracks and top police officers from 9 districts that make up grater Masaka region headed by Officer Enock Baine.

They have re-constructed the scene of crime and also interfaced with the Nuns over the incident.

The Nuns say they were attacked by over 10 thugs wilding sticks and machetes in the night of July 2nd 2020 demanding for money.

They broke into the canteen, offices where they suspected to find money and when they failed they broke into sisters rooms demanding for money laptops and mobile phones in the process sisters tried to raise alarm which alerted the police in Kalungu that came to their rescue after around 40 minutes and the thugs managed to escape.

In response Baine promised them security and that they are to do all possible means to arrest the thugs.

Kalungu West MP Joseph Sewungu advised any youth from the area who could have involved in the attack to the sisters to go and repent to avoid a curse.

The Nuns have also offered a piece of land at Villa Maria Parish for the police to establish a police post to boast security in the area.
