Ministry of public service has finally agreed to meet with public servants under their umbrella body Uganda Local Government Workers union ( ULGWU)  on Friday 1st July  this week.

This follows an ultimatum issued by  Hassan Mudiba Lwabayi the secretary general of ULGWU notifying it about their intended strike on 6th July over salary enhancement.

According to the statement issued by the permanent secretary of ministry of public service Catherine Bitarakwate invites Members of this union  to forge away forward on this matter.

Lwabayi also warned local government workers to avoid being used by government to intimidate teachers who are also on industrial action since June 15th over salary enhancement.

He also advised public servants who are now intimidating local government workers to stay out of the strike to desist  from doing so because it’s their right to lay down tools .
