Government has advised local business community in Uganda to stop lamenting about the presence of many foreign investors in the country but rather improve on the quality of their products to take a competitive advantage on the market.

This Friday, Uganda started engagement to work with city of Jaipur and Great State of Rajasthan in India to welcome potential investors to invest into the Pear of Africa.

Hon. Okello Oryem, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, during the official opening of Uganda India Investment Road show Jaipur, said that Uganda needs foreign investors because they help to reduce unemployment in the country as well as government income generation.

Oryem adds that local business communities should instead focus on improving the quality of their products to equally compete with foreigners at the market, they should be creative and attractive but lamenting every time will not help.

Oryem revealed that government is prioritizing commercial and economic Diplomacy so this new focus with India will lead to Social economic transformation of the country and deepen Uganda’s relationship with India.

Meanwhile, Oryem has disclosed that due to security, good weather and working conditions in Uganda it will continue attracting more investors to come to Uganda amidst some who are currently closing down business but this can’t scare government because it has also happened in other countries like Kenya.
