Prez Museveni gives Shs 20m to families of the Victims of Kasaka S.S Accident

President Yoweri Museveni has directed the State House Controller to pay Shs 5 million to the families of each of the deceased students who died in the motor accident at a school in Gomba district.

Four students of Kasaka Secondary School in Kanoni Town Council, Gomba District died after a Sino Truck lorry registration number, UBL 790J rammed into the school premises on Tuesday 14^th March 2023.

Other 18 students got injured and are still undergoing treatment at Gombe Hospital. Each of the injured students President Museveni directed they get paid Shs 1 million.

Museveni has also directed the Attorney general and prime minister to follow-up on the owners of the truck to compensate the families of the victims as per the law.

“It’s alleged that the Sino truck driver lost control and rammed into the school fence, proceeded through to the  school computer lab that was occupied by  students, killing three  students on spot and injuring eighteen (18) others,” Traffic Police spokesperson, ASP Faridah Nampiima said on Tuesday.
