The office of the president has requested for 12bnshs for the renovation of Entebbe State house and other state lodges country wide.

The request has been tabled by the State Minister for Economic Monitoring in the Office of the President Peter Ogwang as he presented the budget framework paper of the year 2022/23 financial year before the Parliamentary Presidential Affairs Committee.

Ogwang said that the current State House in Entebbe and other state lodges are in a dilapidated state that they need urgent renovation.

State House was last renovated in 2007 as the country was preparing for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting –CHOGM and since then it has never been renovated.

Ogwanga further informed the committee chaired by the Adjumani Woman Member of Parliament, Jessica Ababiku that the president has no money for constitutional travels both internationally and regionally.

He added that even some projects under the Office of the President like Skilling Uganda and Village Model farming among others are unfunded thus pleading to the committee to support the budget and rescue the Office of the President from these challenges it is going through.
