Police have cautioned the public to desist from phone calling senior officers for recruitment and the over aged to stay away from applying in the ongoing exercise.

Recently, Police through the Human Resource Director, AIGP Brigadier Jesse Kamunanwire announced a recruitment exercise that is ending on 18th of February this year targeting 2500 probation constables between the ages of 18 and 23.

Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson says that some Ugandans have resorted to calling senior officers, thinking they could bypass the procedures yet clear requirements were set up and are followed.

He says that those calling officers are without the stipulated requirements and want to use other short avenues to enter into the police which won’t be allowed.

Enanga emphasizes on some of the requirements for the recruitment exercise that need the applicant to be a Ugandan citizen with a valid National ID, have no criminal record, ready to undertake the requisite 12 months police basic training and be physically and medically fit among others.

Enanga appeals to those interested to ensure they fit in those requirements before they apply.
