The Electoral Commission Chairman, Justice Simon Byabakama has asked the newly created anti-violence crimes unit of the police force to be neutral as they enforce law and order during this political season.

Following the announcement that the campaigns will be held on media outlets, many supporters of intending aspirants have been gathering around media houses as their aspirants are articulating issues on air.

This has on several occasions forced police to use tear gas and bullets to disperse them using the anti-violence crimes unit however the electoral commission reminds the officers within the unit to be professional as they enforce law and order.

Meanwhile, the police spokesperson, Fred Enanga reminded the public to refrain from gathering around media houses when their candidates are being hosted but rather use their radios or TV sets to listen and watch their favorite candidates.
