The Parliamentary Committee on Health chaired by Dr. Michael Bukenya has for the second time dismissed a delegation from the police force for failure to apprehend fake drug dealers in the country.

The committee had ordered the same team to appear with the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to answer accusations of connivance and releasing suspects arrested over selling fake drugs on market.

Today the IGP Martine Okoth Ochola had delegated Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Edward Ochom and the Criminal Investigation Intelligence Department (CIID) Director Grace Akulo but were not allowed any explanation and told to re-appear on Tuesday March 27th with Mr. Ochola and his deputy Brigadier Muzeei Sabiiti.

Meanwhile, Ochom has promised to strengthen the operations to cab the fake drugs on market.

This comes in the face of contradictions between government departments, including the Ministry of Health and private health facilities in the wake of perceived fake Hepatitis B vaccines on the market.
