The chairperson of the parliamentary Defense Committee Rosemary Nyakikongolo has welcomed the deployment of the East African Standby force to the DR Congo.

This follows yesterday’s meeting of the East African Community heads of states in Nairobi chaired by the its head also the President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta which resolved to deploy and disarm all rebel groups in Eastern DRC.

In the past days there have been reports of xenophobic nature targeted against the Rwandan Nations by the Congolese in Congo on accusations that Rwanda supports M23 rebels who have terrorized areas of Kivu Province and of recent they captured Bunagana town leading to the closure of both Uganda and Rwanda borders with Congo.

Nyakikongolo has told our reporter that the deployment has actually been delayed being that the war in Congo affects trade amongst countries with in the East African Community and also threatens the future protocols and treaties of the community.

Meanwhile the Chairperson of COSASE also Nakawa Mp Joel Ssenyonyi says that peace will only be attained in Congo once some E.A community leaders stop Egoism and respect each other.
