Parliament has paid tribute to the fallen woman Mp of Palisa Hon Faith Alupo who died this morning at Mulago Hospital.

The cause of her death has not yet been confirmed but rumours say she could have succumbed to Covid-19.

Hon. Alupo 37, was an NRM member who had spent two years in parliament since June 2018 after a by-election following the nullification of FDC candidate Achola Osupelem over grounds of failing to reconcile differences in his name he used during elections and those on her academic credentials.

Addressing parliament this afternoon, Speaker Rebecca Kadaga informed members that burial arrangements will be communicated.

A relative to Hon. Alupo, Joseph Ongom, has revealed that the deceased had been receiving treatment for blood pressure and diabetes during her admission at Mulago Hospital for the last two weeks.

Currently, Uganda has got 4,799 confirmed cases of Covid-19 but with 948 active cases, of these at least 163 of them are health workers spread across the country. 2,256 are the total number of recoveries so far with 56 deaths.
