Opposition Members of Parliament have stormed Kiruddu hospital over the release of Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze ahead of her anticipated trip to India for better treatment.

MPs including Moses Kasibante (Rubaga North), Allan Ssewanyana (Makindye West) and Ibrahim Ssemuju Nganda (Kira Municiapality stormed the heavily-guarded Kiruddu hospital saying they wanted to transfer Ms Nambooze to India for her treatment after she was cleared by Mulago National Referral Hospital to travel for medical checkup

However police that is keeping strict watch over Nambooze did not heed to their demands but allowed them to visit her in the treatment room like any other friend.

The Police spokesperson, Emilian Kayima, confirmed to the media yesterday that Nambooze is still being investigated over her social media post about the late Ibrahim Abiriga, adding that anyone planning to take her away from Kiruddu must liaise with the authorities.

The Mulago executive director, Dr Byaruhanga Baterena, said they have cleared the bedridden MP to travel to India for further medical review.

However therough her lawyer Samuel Muyizi, Nambooze has petitioned the High court demanding her release to seek specialized treatment abroad.
