The National Organization of Trade Unions (NOTU) is involved in a conflict over its representation to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) board.

The 11th NSSF board composed of 8 members was inaugurated by Finance Minister Matia Kasaija yesterday without the two workers representatives from NOTU.

According to Finance Minister Kasaija, NOTU nominees were rejected by the Uganda Retirement Benefits Regulatory Authority (URBRA) as “unfit for the job however available information is that preferably more female candidates should be added to the board

NOTU Chairman General Wilson Owere says that the Minister should not give them conditions on who to nominate.
