Nkozi hospital has resumed its campaign of hunting for at least 7.8bnshs that is projected to be the remaining sums of money needed for the completion of the new causality ward construction project.

 

Nkozi Hospital, a Catholic mission founded facility found at Kayabwe Trading centre in Mpigi district started in 2016 the campaign to improve its capacity to handle patients by constructing a fully-fledged causality and trauma unit worth Shillings 8billion.

 

Addressing the media at Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala’s residency in Nsambya on Tuesday ahead of the Construction project Annual virtual charity run 2021 edition on May 3rd this year, the Vicar General of Kampala Archdiocese Msgr. Charles Kasibante said that in the last six years, the hospital received over 1,500 accident patients along Kampala- Masaka highway and among these 902 were admitted unfortunately 28 died.

 

However, he says that they intend to raise funds through this charity run that needs people to pay 20,000shs for attendances towards the construction project that has so far completed 60 % of the foundation, only awaiting a slab on top.

 

The marathon event that is expected to attract only 200 people at Uganda Martyrs Sports Complex in Nkozi, will involve activities including, Zumba session, massage, a stage performance and mini run on the Nkozi hill and later participants will take a tour at the centre building.

 

However, the Special Project Ambassador Prince David Wassajja urges the public to participate in this charity runs so that the hospital raise the required fund to complete the construction project within this very year.

 

Centenary Bank through its Managing Director Fabian Kasi handed its contribution of 10mshs towards this upcoming marathon while State Wide Insurance Company contributed 3mshs and Movit Product pledged to provide kits for all participants at only 20,000shs.
