The two appeared for mention before Buganda road court but the state attorney Nelly Asiku prayed for more time to conclude investigations.

The suspects are facing charges of unauthorized obstruction of simcard contrary to computer misuse act, Abatement of electronic fraud and unlawfully sim card swapping among others.

It is allegedly that last month the two unlawfully swapped simcards of State Ministers for Lands and that of Agriculture Persis Namuganza, Christopher Kibazanga and Western youth Member of Parliament Mwine Mpaka without their Authorization and allowed fraudsters to get possession of the said numbers who solicited huge sums of money from their contacts.

Mpaka told journalists at court that his friends lost over 40million shillings to fraudsters on top of losing his image in public which he wants Uganda Communications Commission and the Telecom Company MTN-Uganda to compensate.
