Mukono Municipality MP, Betty Nambooze has been granted bail this afternoon giving her a chance to be flown to India to get treatment for her ailment.
Nambooze was arrested on June 13 over remarks she made before and after the assassination of Arua municipality MP Ibrahim Abiriga and his brother Saidi Kongo Buga on June 8 said to be contrary to the Computer Misuse Act and also Inciting Violence.
She has been ordered to report back to Commissioner Homicide Department at Kibuli on July 29. She was denied bail following her re-arrest on June 19th however in the cause of her detention at Naggalama police station Nambooze developed complications as a result of the earlier surgery following the September 2017 parliamentary fracas.
Nambooze was scheduled to travel back to India for review on June 15th following a successful spine operation in November last year at Manipal Hospital where metals were inserted in her back following the September 27 parliamentary fracas.
It is said that Parliament has already wired on Nambooze’s account UGX 100 to cater for her medical treatment.
