The Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) presidential candidate Mugisha Muntu is set to write to the Electoral Commission asking them to give reasons why they barred cameras at the polling stations.

Muntu while campaigning in areas of Kisoro today, warned the EC chairperson Simon Byabaka not to provoke and drive the country to the errors of 80s that led to bloodshed after vote rigging.

He said in their letter they are to demand EC to give credible reasons why cameras must not be allowed at polling stations and tally centres and if not convincing ANT will not abide by the directives.

Muntu has however appealed to electorates to desist from violate acts but rather pray for peace before and after elections.

Meanwhile Muntu has promised the people of Kisoro that his government will fight corruption and they will be equal sharing of national resources per region.

Meanwhile, the Nakaseke South Member of Parliament Paulsen Luttamaguzi Ssemakula has advised the Electoral Commission (EC) not to set oppressive rules for the January 14th election day that will pre-meditate violence in the country.

This is after the EC chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama issuing a statement yesterday stopping cameras at the polling stations and tally centers and also voters from not staying after voting.

Luttamaguzi now says that these are all signs of unfairness that may lead to election violence after the announcing of the final results.

He says Justice Byabakama should desist from such directives and also copy from the previous elections organized by the same commission for Uganda to remain peaceful and have a free and fair election.
