Hearing of the bail application of the Makerere University Administrator charged with indecent assault failed this morning following a request by the prosecution to involve the Director of Public Prosecution in the matter.

Edward Kisuze, a Registrar in the College of Computing and Information Science at Makerere University is accused of indecent assault and attempting to rape Rachel Njeri Njoroge, a former student of Kenyan origin.

Prosecution alleges that while at the Senate Building of Makerere University on April 13, 2018, Kisuze indecently assaulted and attempted to rape Njoroge when she went to certify her transcript. Kisuze was picked up last month and remanded to prison after Njoroge posted pictures of sexual molestation.

This morning, Kisuze appeared before the Buganda Road Chief Magistrate, James Ereemye Mawanda for his bail application hearing but the state prosecutor Viola Tusingwire asked for more time to consult with Justice Mike Chibita, the Director of Public Prosecution forcing court to adjourn the matter to the 11th of this month.
