The select committee of parliament investigating the anomalies in compensating former Ugandan traders who were affected by the South Sudan civil war is set to go to Juba for further findings.

The committee chaired by Ana Maria Nankabirwa decided to take the move after ministry of Trade and Finance shifting blame to South Sudan for delaying to verify the genuine companies that provided services or goods to SPLA.

Also the committee was tasked to confirm whether the first 10 compensated companies by ministry of finance were genuine or not.

Parliament last year passed a supplementary budget of 41bn to compensate all affected traders in war but they were surprised to learn that out of the 33 companies verified by ministry of Trade only 10 benefited and they are still claiming more.
