Members of Parliament (MPs) have called for extra checkup for all people going to parliament to control attacks from intruders.

This follows yesterday’s scenario that paralyzed plenary session which was chaired by speaker Rebecca Kadaga leaving most of the MPs in shock.

The State Minister for Environment Beatrice Anywar suggested that more security should be deployed to secure parliament but investigations as well done to establish the true sense of the matter.

In reply Speaker Kadaga comforted members promising to have a report from the investigating team specially Sergeant at Arms.

However, the Kiira Municipality MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda implored Kadaga to conduct parallel investigation even on those who attacked parliament during the constitutional amendment on Act 102(b) formally nicknamed as “Togikwatako” during the removal of presidential age limit from the constitution.

Meanwhile, Rubaga South MP Moses Kasibante asked parliament to prioritize identifying the strangers’ motive of attacking MPs on whether it is in connection with the ongoing allegations that they were mobilized by the Minister for Security General Elly Tumwine against those who supported his censure motion.
