Following the president’s directives on coronavirus, Parliament of Uganda has installed temperature checking machines on all entrances of parliament to test any entrant of COVID-19 symptomic line.

 

Recently, security personals at the parliamentary gates were trained and according to the guidelines if one presents with a temperature above 32 degrees Cericious he or she is isolated.

 

Upon the installation of these machines, the Kampala Central Member of Parliament Muhammed Nsereko says that government should also consider giving special allowances to medical workers.

 

Addressing the media at parliament in relation to sensitization and prevention of Covid-19, Nsereko said that Uganda’s doctors and those assigned in the combat to fight the virus should be allocated with allowances for motivation.

 

He cited groups like hospital guards, Nurses, soldiers, ambulance drivers and doctors adding that at least government should consider allowances ranging from 50,000/= to 100,000/= according to ones task.

 

Allan Ssewanyana of Makindye West also called for special economic measures to protect the economy by revising bank loans, giving tax holidays to investors or suspend rental tax as well as allowing those who  save with National Social Security Fund (NSSF) to access at least 5-20% of their saving to boost capital.
