Investigations into the fraudulent closure and disposing off assets of seven private banks has been pushed to the fifth day after the Parliamentary Committee on Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) demanded for authentic documents on the subject.

The Committee chaired by Abdu Katuntu today questioned the former Executive Director Bank of Uganda in charge of supervision Justine Bagyenda where the required documents were kept, a situation which threw the committee in uncontrollable moments ending up in a verbal exchange.

This forced Katuntu to adjourn the sitting to tomorrow morning with directives to Bagyenda to produce 11 files containing documents and inventory about the closure of Greenland Bank today although she claimed to have presented all the demanded documents to the MPs.

Earlier Benedict Sekabira, the Director of Liquidation at BoU presented an appointment letter for liquidation of Greenland bank but the committee asked him to produce letters authorizing him to oversee the liquidation of ICB and Cooperative Bank.
