A total of 1,181,965 are set to sit for their final examinations for Primary Leaving Examinations ( PLE) ,Uganda certificate of Education (UCE ) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education ( UACE) for the year 2020.
Of these, 749,811 will sit for PLE, 333,775 will sit for UCE and 98,379 will sit for UACE.
Out of the 749,811 registered Candidates for PLE, 395,869 are females and 35, 3942 are males.
For the UCE level, Out of the 333,775 registered candidates, 167,481 are females and 166,294 are males while the 98,379 registered candidates for UACE, 57,167 are males and 41,212 are females.
the executive director for Uganda National Examination Board Daniel Odongo while releasing the dates for conducting the final examinations at the Uganda media centre Kampala, he said the UCE candidates will have their briefing next Friday February 26th and the writing of the papers start on March 1st to 6th April 2021, PLE candidates will have their briefing on 26th march and their papers on 30th and 31st of march and lastly the UACE candidates will have their briefing on 9th April and begin their exams on April 12th to 3rd May 2021.
He strongly warned all persons who will engage in examination malpractice that is time round the examination body will be harsh on them.
Odongo revealed joy on the increasing number of female candidates that have been registered to sit for PLE and UCE because they had fear that many girls had dropped out because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
