Ministers who failed to make it to the 11th parliament through the last Thursday’s election on January 14, 2021 are continuing to lash at the voters for exercising sectarian and tribal sentiments during the election exercise.

The Minister for Agriculture Vincent Bamulangaki Ssempijja the NRM candidate who lost the Kalungu East parliamentary seat to an NUP candidate Francis Katabazi has said that failure of most ministers in Buganda Region was based on tribal, religion and sectarian tendencies.

Ssempijja who organised an evolution meeting at his home in Kapere Kalungu that included his campaigning team and members of the press said a wave brought by the National Unity Platform NUP will cost the region since no one can trust any person from the central region.

He also said that many youths were targeting to loot and destroy any property purported to be for the rich which is wrong. He urged the youth to have a mindset change and work for themselves.

The party secretary general Justine Kasule Lumumba while addressing the media at party headquarters Kyadondo road said that it’s unfortunate that the party did not perform  to its expectations in central region wining only 31 Mps although it swept other areas.

Lumuba said that they are to remodel the mobilization strategy but party members who lost have to make sure that they go back to ground such the party does not lose it all in the remaining elections for the local government leadership.

He has congratulated party members upon the victory they received and challenged them not to relax until when the coming elections are won.

The party lost a big fraction of the current cabinet members in the January 14th general elections starting with the Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, Ruth Nankabirwa, Ameria Kyambadde, Ronald Kibuule, Judith Nabakooba, Florence Nakiwala, Beatrice Atim Anywar, Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo and Mwesigwa Rukutana among others.
