The meeting between the parliament defence and internal affairs committee with the ministry of defence and veteran Affairs that had been scheduled for today has been suspended until 11th of this month.

This was reached after MPs serving on this committee accused the minister of defence Adolf Mwesigye of disrespecting them yet they as parliament and the committee in particular have to offer an over sighting role to the ministry’s work.

The disagreement arose as MPs tried to guide the minister who led his team to present his ministry’s budget proposal for the next financial year 2019/2020 whose documents never corresponded.

In the process the term” we are your boss” that committee members asserted specifically from the Obongi county MP Kaps Fungaroo, Theodore Sekikubo, Mubarak Munyagwa, , Francis Zaake among others, angered Mwesigye, lost words and started to take on the MPs in a verbal exchange

The chairperson of the committee Doreen Amule tried to arrest the situation and suspended the meeting for fifteen minutes before with a caution to both the MPs and the Minister Adolf Mwesige to treat one another respectfully.
