The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development has revealed that Uganda has a housing deficit of 2.4 million housing units.

According to the Ministry, the majority of the people are said to be living in substandard structures that are not fit for human habitation.

 

Dave Khayangayanga, Director Housing and Human Settlement said this on Thursday at Uganda Media Centre while briefing media about the Uganda Buildcon International expo come Thursday 11th to Saturday 13th of August 2022 at UMA show grounds Lugogo under the Theme: ‘Connect with the Construction to build a better tomorrow’.

The expo will be graced by minister of state for housing Hon Persis Namuganza.

Khayangayanga says that the Exhibition is a learning experiences one should not miss and it will focus on Architecture, construction, building materials, engineering, innovation, interior designs, building automation, heavy equipment, construction machinery, prefabricated structures, safety security and solar products, infrastructure software and tool, which is part of the government plan in addressing the challenge.
