A number of leaders at the local government level who subscribe to the opposition are happy with the recently signed deal for all opposition parties in Uganda to work together to liberate this country.

The Makerere III Councilor at Kawempe Division Urban Council, Mohammad Nsubuga says unity of two trusted opposition leaders Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu the president of National Unity platform (NUP) and Kizza Besigye the Chairman of political pressure group People’s front for Transition (PTF) is a blessing in disguise and should be respected by all change seeking forces.

On Monday 1st of August at Hotel African in Kampala the two leaders plus other political parties Justice Forum JEEMA and Peoples Progressive Party PPP pledged to collaborate, to change this government leadership.

Talking to our reporter at Kawempe, Nsubuga says Ugandans have been yearning for them to unite where two strong opposition leaders decide to work together to fight injustices, vote bribery and violation of democratic principles among others saying Ugandans are optimistic of positive change in Uganda.

Nsubuga noted that previously opposition leaders did not respect the coalitions because they were built on political capital which is wrong.

He has challenged all opposition leaders to desist from office politics if change is to happen in Uganda.
