Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Councilors have given an ultimatum of two weeks to the technical wing to produce a report on the theft of important documents and computers from their offices.

This came after a whistle blower communicated to the office of the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago about the alleged breaking and theft of KCCA documents and machines earlier this week.

In the council meeting chaired by Lukwago on Thursday afternoon, councilors said that the reported breaking mainly in the Directorate of Legal and Litigation and the Directorate of Engineering could have been planned to destroy evidence in the Authority directorates in respect to the accountability of 143 billion shillings spent on KCCA court cases.

Last week, Lord Councilors led by the Lord Mayor Lukwago gave three weeks to various directorates to account for the number of court cases that were handled by their departments that include; office of the Executive Director, Legal and Litigation, and the directorate of lands among others.

The KCCA Acting Executive Director, Engineer Andrew Kitaka confirmed to council members that there was a breaking-in and stealing of some documents from various departments and investigations are ongoing but agreed to the ultimatum.
