Suspected Boda Boda riders’ hit men John Bosco Mugisha alias Aloysius Tamale also known as Young Mulo have been arraigned before Makindye Grade One Magistrate Allan Gakyaro and charged with aggravated robbery and murder.

The two were charged alongside Bob Mubala alias Musoga, and Magidu Bandiho, nicknamed Kagame.

The prosecution alleges that the group, and others still at large, with malice aforethought, killed Damiano Ssekana, a Boda-boda rider in Kizungu zone Makindye on April 29, 2019 and robbed his motorcycle registration number UEW 256-G.

One of the suspects, Bob Mubala was separately charged on another file, for aggravated robbery and murder of Godfrey Nkata at Clock Towers in Kampala along with Mugisha and Bandiho, with whom they killed Nkata and took off with his motorcycle on June 3.

The suspects were not allowed to take plea because the cases against them are capital in nature and can only be handled by the High Court. They were remanded until August 23, 2019.

The group was netted after a CCTV footage showed a Boda-boda rider being hit several times with a hammer on his head. The rider was later identified as Derrick Mulindwa who was killed at Kakyeka Mengo in Lubaga Division Kampala district.

The group that has been in custody since July 17th 2019 has confessed to the murder of other Boda-boda riders by strangulation and a number of robberies in the city. The group has since recorded extrajudicial statements at Mengo and Law Development Centre courts.
