The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga has launched a Parliamentary/ Public App called “Bungeni” that is going to allow public participation on the parliamentary work.

The Bungeni is said to be a swahiri name meaning inside parliament and want to see that the public gets a direct participation in the enactment of Bills and the whole process to an Act because laws are for all in Uganda.

The launch has coincided with the annual parliamentary/Public week that gives the public a chance to appreciate the operations of parliament, there exhibitions, discuss at the floor of parliament among other activities.

Kadaga also reiterated her demand through the state minister for economic planning David Bahati and UBOS to have a policy and census on Albinos for better planning because it’s a shame to ignore such a vulnerable group of Ugandans.

The same day has had an ecumenical breakfast service organised along with the inter religious council of Uganda where, Fr. Raymond Kalanzi who represented the Archbishop of Kampala Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga presented three points Reconciliation, Transformation and Liberation as three ideal areas that would build peace in Uganda.

Fr. Kalanzi said whatever differences in background parliament should be a bed of reconciliation, a area that builds positive change that can liberate this country from the struggles, conflict, misunderstanding due to political differences and all challenges affecting livelihood.

At the end Kadaga encouraged religious leaders to support the marriage bill that has stalled for over 52 years because it has now proved important since some leaders who would lead by example have violated the institution of family and marriage to the extent of calling marriage vows satanic.
