International Police (Interpol) has displayed and later transported two trucks of 4tones of counterfeit and substandard products to Nakasongola for destruction after they were seized on market in Kampala.
The products worth Uganda shillings ranging between 500million to 600million includes 250 boxes of Viva White cosmetics and Dodo Cream as well as 125 sacks of Simba Waragi and sachet Blue Sky water.
Addressing the media in Kampala, the Interpol Director Benson Oyo Nyeko said it was a five day operation from April 12th to 17th this year in which the products were seized after being imported from the neighboring countries.
However, Allan Mulindwa, the Managing Director for Stop Counterfeit Products appeals to the traders to avoid investing money in such products since they cause loses instead of profits.
