The Kampala Archdiocesan Communication Director Rev. Fr. Deogratius Kateregga Kiibi has advised Ugandan artistes on the best way to handle fame.

Delivering his homily during the late Moses Ssekibogo aka Mowzey Radio’s requiem mass at Rubaga Cathedral, Fr. Kiibi said that with fame, money and their celebrity status, artistes think they have become untouchable and can go around fighting and beating up people forgetting that God is the one who blessed them with the talent.

He adds that once artistes become celebrities, they stop attending church,or any other place of worship only when they are brought back, in caskets the church administrators to pray for their souls.

Fr Kiibi asked Ugandan celebrities to stop using drugs, living extravagant live and neglecting their families parents, wife and children with all their time consumed in a bar.

He said they can use their fame and money to become more productive and developmental to themselves and the nation.

Fr. Kiibi noted that Radio died at very productive age of 30 to 40 years which most youth in Uganda are spending recklessly involving in drugs, alcohol, and indecency among other vices that destroy them.

Besides warning artistes against extravagancy Fr. Kiibi said legacy to many is marked with property one has amassed but families and friendship are a major cornerstone to ones success which Radio invested in on top of helping those in need.

However, a number of notable civil servants, politicians, musicians and a considerable crowd of funs thronged the sorrowful occasion.

At the event, people eulogized Radio, even Weasel his band mate, who had not been seen making comments on the singer, made a brief speech.

From Lubaga the body was taken to Kololo Air strip instead of National Theater for better management and to allow mourners to pay their respect and on Saturday he will be buried at Kagga Nakawuka in Wakiso district.
