As the rift within the Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) intensifies, the Najjanankumbi based faction has laughed at the Katonga based opposite faction for holding an illegal delegates conference against a court order and FDC Constitution.

This follows the suspension of FDC President Patrick Amuriat replaced by the Kampala City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago as the interim president by the Katonga based FDC faction backed up by Dr. Kiiza Besigye.

FDC says that it’s not concerned with whatever that has transpired in the Katonga based extra-ordinary meeting that was called by the party Chairperson Ambassador Wasswa Birigwa.

Speaking to the press at their headquarters the FDC Deputy Spokesperson John Kikonyogo noted that it’s their right to do whatever they want but laughed at the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago for always headlining fights in every political party.

He says that if those elected call those leaders let them step at the party headquarters and take on their offices.

On the issue of Kifeesi that has been deployed in Busaabala at Nature Resort Beach where the extraordinary meeting was expected, Kikonyogo revealed that he is not aware about anything that has happened since he wasn’t responsible for the deployment.

The FDC Treasurer General also Tororo North Member of Parliament Geoffrey Ekanya also scoffed at the Katonga based opposite faction saying the delegates’ conference had no locus to determine or pass any legal resolutions for the whole party being that the legal delegates’ meeting will be held on October 6th this year.

Enkanya says the best that both factions can do is to reconcile, unite and take the party forward.
