The Jinja District Returning Officer, Rogers Sserujogi, has confirmed the arrival of an assortment of materials to be used in the Jinja East Municipally parliamentary by-election scheduled for Thurday.

About 28,000 voters across 47 polling stations are expected to participate in the poll that has attracted eight candidates including Nathan Igeme Nabeta (NRM), Paul Mwiru (FDC), Faisal Mayemba, Eng Francis Wakabi, Christine Monica Abuze, Paul Mugaya, Richard Nyanzi and Hatim Isabirye Mugendi all Independents.

In a press conference held in Jinja town, Sserujogi the arrival of the voting materials today at 10am that include; 47 black boxes, 47 transparent boxes and 47 basins – for the 47 polling stations.

He also confirmed the delivery of welfare for the polling officials across the 47 polling stations.

He appeals to voters to be at the polling centers tomorrow by 7:00am and to keep calm as security is ready to manage any chaotic scenes.
