The electoral commission will conduct the verification of the national voter’s register at village level following complaints of illegible voters appearing on the voters register in the just concluded by elections and general elections.
Speaking to the media at the EC headquarters in Kampala the chairperson electoral commission justice Simon Byabakama noted that to address such complaints, the commission agreed to use the village councils as a pilot exercise which has proved very effective.
According to Byabakama, Verification of the national voter’s register and identification of people with disability PWDs at the village level will be held in each village per parish on separate days for a period of eight days from 21st – 28th October 2019.
