The opposition democratic party wants government to engage leaders and Ugandans in various districts over the extension of Kampala boundaries.

Addressing the press at the party headquarters in Kampala the secretary general of the party Gerald Siranda noted that there is no need for government to rush in such a sensitive matter because many Ugandans will be affected.

His comments come at a time when the minister for Kampala Betty Kamya together with the head of national planning authority Wilberforce Kisamba Mugerwa revealed plans to extend the boundaries of Kampala into the neighboring districts of Wakiso, Mukono and parts of Mpigi.

Meanwhile Siranda has appealed to religious leaders to disassociate themselves from the legislators who have started comparing president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to God following an assertion made by the government Chief Whip Ruth Nankabirwa .
