While responding to the press about the MP’s plight, Mao revealed that DP has been closely following Nambooze’s challenges stating with her arrest on June 13th its them through the party lawyer who secured her bond.

However they believe that here second arrest on June 19th today date is as a result of Presidnet Museveni’s directive that banned issuance of bond and bail to any suspect related to the current wave of murders.

He says they have written to international groups including; the Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International among others indicating the abuse inflicted on Nambooze.

But they are also engaging other means to have the legislator set free which include mobilizing the party youths to hold demonstrations against her illegal detention.

Mao also announced that DP will proceed to launch a Caravan at Festino City in Mukono Municipality tomorrow as part of its ongoing campaign to mobilize party members to strengthen their party structures and rally support.

This follows the reunion of Uganda Young Democrats held on May 23rd at Makerere University Rugby Grounds.
