The Opposition Democratic Party DP has filled to capacity Festinal City where they have converged to launch their Caravan Mukono called DP re-union for grater Mukono.
The area comprises of districts; Mukono, Buyikwe, parts of Kalangala called Buvuma and Kayunga.
The Party heavy weights like Dr. Paul Kawanga Semogerere, former Katikiro Joseph Mulwanya Muli Semogerere, party president Norbert Mao and Members of Parliament.
The caravan is an extension of the reunion of Uganda Young Democrats held on May 23rd at Makerere University Rugby Grounds aimed at mobilizing party members to strengthen their party structures and rally support.
The MPs such as Florence Namayanja, Joseph Sewungu and Muwanga Kivumbi have all called for a united front to revive their party challenging followers never to be derailed by opportunists who have for long rendered the party weak.
The function has been held amidst strife because the area member of parliament Betty Nambooze the MP for Mukono Municipality was sick yet she would be the one to call for such a meeting. Nambooze has been under strict surveillance by the police at Kirudu hospital where she was rushed following health complications since her re-arrest on June 19th .
