The Buganda Road court has granted bail to 6 of the group members of the “Real Anti-Corruption Walk Activists” that were charged for disobedience of lawful order.

The accused represented by Counsel Eron Kiiza and Gawaya Tegulle include Ashraph Lukwago, Badru Kaweesi, Jimmy Gafaayo, Richard Kizito, Godfrey Tumukunde and Nicholas Nayesiga.

Grade one Magistrate Stella Amabilis granted each of them a cash bail of Two Million Shillings and One million Shillings non cash for the sureties.

However, all the national IDs of the sureties have been retained with orders to the accused to bring their national IDs as well on the adjournment date of February 12th 2020.

Prosecution alleges that on the January 13th 2020 at Entebbe road, in Kampala district, the suspects disobeyed lawful orders including section 5 and 10 of the 2013 Public Order Management Act (POMA) by engaging in an illegal protest without notifying police.

The group was dressed in black T-shirts with words” real anti corruption walk, black Friday” which was incisive and refused to adhere to the police orders to clear the road for other users leading to their arrest.
